Old Rectory Resale Shop
The Old Rectory Resale Shop provides a retail outlet for the residents of Pontiac where they can purchase a variety of high quality household items and clothing at very affordable prices. The Resale Shop, adjacent to the church building, is open on Friday from 10-2, Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm, and on some Sundays for special events like Holidays & Bound Together fund raising.
The Resale operations are run by rotating five teams of volunteers consisting of a manager, cashier, and one sales & bagging position. Wednesday restocking operations require volunteers to sort, label, and price merchandise that are replenished in display locations in the Women’s, Men’s, Children’s, Clearance, Kitchen, and “Tchotchke” rooms of the Old Rectory.
In addition to volunteers from All Saints', parishioners from Christ Church Cranbrook, Spirit of Grace Church, and the Multicultural Family Center in Pontiac also volunteer.
The Book Nook (located at the rear of the gymnasium) is a gem with literally thousands of books arranged by many categories at very low prices. Residents of Pontiac and clients of the Community Free Breakfast, the Produce Market and the Resale Shop can look for specific authors and topics or just browse. Besides novels and mysteries and cooking (these are the most popular categories) there are biographical, history, business, children’s and teens, self-help, spiritual, health, gardening books and lots and lots more.
The nook is open every Saturday from 10:00am until Noon. The entrance on Saturdays is through the Exchange Street door (at the rear of the gymnasium) and up the stairs.
