What can I expect from the church?
Because we're a faith community, our primary mission is to worship, love, and serve God. At All Saints' that means you'll be part of a household of God that spends time together praying, working, talking, studying, eating, having fun and finding fulfillment as your find your niche here. Most importantly, you will be part of a community which attempts to live out the mission to which we've been called. The Book of Common Prayer puts it this way:
The mission of the Church is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. We pursue this mission as we pray and worship, proclaim the Gospel, and promote justice, peace, and love through the ministry of all our members. The Church is the Body of which Jesus Christ is the head and which all baptized persons are members. The Church is one, holy, catholic, and apostolic. The Church is one, because it is one Body, under one head, our Lord Jesus Christ. We are holy because The Holy Spirit dwells in the church, consecrates its members, and guides them to do God’s work. Because we proclaim the whole Faith to all people, to the end of time we are catholic. Members will be trained in the teaching and fellowship of the apostles and sent to carry out Christ’s mission to all people.”

What does the church expect from me?
Because healthy relationships are grounded in mutuality, all members are expected to follow the example of Christ by participating in public worship regularly, praying daily, giving sacrificially, serving others according to their ability, and to open themselves to God's direction in their lives. As you are formed in a new and growing faith all those things will make sense in time: we promise!

Do I have to sign any papers or do anything special to become a member of All Saints?
If you're ready to make a formal commitment to our faith community, there are a couple of ways to make things "official."
  • Baptism: The sacrament of Baptism marks entrance and commitment to the Christian faith. If you've never been baptized we will arrange for you to undergo this rite during one of our Sunday liturgies.
  • Transfer of Membership: If you've been a member of another Episcopal Church and wish to become a member of All Saints all you need to do is contact your previous parish and ask them to send a Letter of Transfer to our parish office.
  • Confirmation or Reception:  If you've previously been baptized and your desire is to become not just a member of All Saints' but of the Episcopal Church, follow this link to read more about the process of being confirmed or received.
  • Embrace Stewardship: Because God possesses an abundant nature and is always generous towards creation, we embrace the concept of stewardship by offering a portion of our time and financial resources towards the mission of the Church. Read more about what stewardship means here.
