Faith Formation
Faith formation is a life long process providing continuous and consistent education and experiences so that we may grow in understanding of our Christian faith. No matter how young or old we are, there is always something new to learn and something to share with each other.
Classes, study groups, and discussions are the foundation of adult Christian formation at All Saints', while our programming for young people is based on models of learning by interacting in fellowship with others and participating in hands-on learning experiences. As we learn more about what it means to be a follower of Christ, to be an Episcopalian, and about our personal spirituality, we engage in the process of being shaped into who and what God wants us to be.
For Children and Youth
Our program for young people is currently in transition as we await the hiring of a part-time youth and children's minister to breathe new life into our offerings. We anticipate this new staff position to be filled by Spring 2010. In the meantime, Young people are an important part of our community life, and they participate in activities both at All Saints' and in diocesan youth programs like Happening and Nightwatch. They serve as acolytes, readers, and ushers during the 10:30 Sunday Eucharist, which allows them to participate interactively in the experience of worship. During the school year there are monthly activities such as movie night, pizza dinners, youth worship, and more. They help with fundraising efforts that benefit both their own activities and the parish operating fund by hosting the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, spaghetti lunches, and car washes. During the summer many of our youth attend church camp or participate in diocesan mission trips. Our young people are also involved in outreach to the local community by volunteering at the Crossroads Soup Kitchen, collecting clothing and toiletries for clients of the Baldwin Center, and participate as other opportunities arise.
For Adults
Whether it be participating in a variety of small groups or attending seasonal book groups, inquirer's classes or Sunday forums, there's always something new to learn at All Saints!'
