About All Saints'
All Saints' is the first established Episcopal Church in Oakland County with a long history of serving God and others through prayer, outreach, fellowship, and mission. We are young and old, black and white, straight and gay, and we value our diversity as a community. We also recognize that terms like "diversity" and "community" are more than just nice words to describe who we are - it is who we are as the Body of Christ. After all, Christianity is ultimately about community, and in community we support each other as individuals as we "do life" together.
About Pontiac
Like many other cities in this part of the United States, Pontiac's fortunes have long been tied to the auto industry, and so the city is currently facing significant economic and social challenges. It is also a racially and culturally diverse community, and the membership of All Saints' reflects that diversity.
Despite the many economic challenges facing Pontiac, it is a dynamic and lively place with parks, restaurants, and clubs all within a short walk of the church. Our church plant is an oasis of well-kept lawns and gardens, and neighborhood residents often remark how much All Saints' feels like a sanctuary which provides a place of calm and beauty in the midst of an urban landscape. Our immediate neighbors, the Greater Sharing Cross Apostolic Church and Catholic Social Services Hispanic Outreach, are important contributors to community life in our neighborhood.
